International business acceleration and open innovation programme aimed at innovative start-ups from anywhere in the world that propose innovative solutions in the priority areas defined in the Smart Specialisation Strategy of Cantabria RIS3 2021-2027: Industry 4.0, Blue Economy and Offshore Industry, Health and Wellbeing, Cultural Industry and Sustainable Tourism, and Bioeconomy and Agri-food.
The companies to which the startups will have access are entities that are established in Cantabria and belong to the priority areas defined in the Smart Specialisation Strategy of Cantabria RIS3 2021-2027: Industry 4.0, Blue Economy and Offshore Industry, Health and Wellbeing, Cultural Industry and Sustainable Tourism, and Bioeconomy and Agri-food.
In case that any of the projects of the selected Startup is considered of your interest, the company will formalize a contract during the XTELA PROGRAM, for an amount of at least 15,000€ that will be destined
to the development of the project, product and / or service of the Startup. Companies that settle in PCTCAN may be beneficiaries of aid to finance their stay in the offices of the Torre Xtela during the duration of the program (including services for free and supplies associated with the building), under the Call published by the General Directorate of Innovation, Technological Development, and Industrial Entrepreneurship of the Government of Cantabria.
The support offered to startups will be about mentoring work, physical spaces, specific knowledge, and additional resources. Basically, everything that can favor companies to accelerate their growth. The Program will have experts in different areas of knowledge who will provide training to Startups in business skills: Marketing, Finance, Investment, Legal, Aid, etc. The objective is to offer training to the teams, in addition to adding value to the business model of the Startups.
Each company will identify a challenge to be solved by a startup. The challenges must have the following characteristics:
- It constitutes an innovation.
- It has an impact on the business or research fabric of Cantabria.
- Adds value to the company itself and to stakeholders (citizens or public administration professionals).
- The solution to the challenge is scalable.
Dissemination, recruitment, and selection of candidates.
- The technical commission will make a report of the projects.
- The shortlisted projects will be presented to the companies by the startups
The Startups will have mentoring through people who have a solid business experience whose job will be to instruct, accompany and advise the Startup in terms of product and strategy, thus ensuring the success of the initiative. In addition, they will participate in the networking meetings, conferences and events organized by the accelerator.
